Operating experience built inside the industry.
His experience is unusual because it spans both sides of the problems 1703 is built to solve. Ryan has operated national title and settlement businesses, built software and data platforms for the mortgage and title markets, created new business lines from scratch, led full P&Ls, developed institutional real-estate solutions, structured specialty insurance programs, and worked directly with lenders, underwriters, investors, founders and technology companies across the transaction ecosystem.
Before founding 1703 Strategic Advisors, Ryan founded and led Grid151 within the Westcor enterprise. He built the business from inception into a national platform generating more than $60 million in peak annual revenue and processing more than 10,000 transactions per month. He held full EBITDA responsibility across multiple businesses and led a seven-member executive team, 75+ full-time employees and more than 250 offshore contractors across operations, technology, product, sales, finance, legal, compliance, marketing and customer success.
Ryan's work has repeatedly focused on opportunities that did not come with an existing playbook. He created and commercialized eAgency®, a managed-services platform supporting affiliate title ownership; Closepin®, a centralized closing-agent compliance platform; and GridBase®, a data and connectivity platform designed for the mortgage and title ecosystem. He also built national commercial title capabilities, captive reinsurance structures, and operating infrastructure supporting institutional single-family-rental acquisitions and securitizations.
Earlier in his career, Ryan co-founded Avenue 365 Lender Services and Smartertitle.com, where he helped build national operations, develop affiliated-services models, create new revenue streams and modernize fragmented, manual workflows. Across these businesses, he has worked through the same questions 1703 clients face today: where to enter a market, what customers will actually buy, what to build versus buy, how to scale an operation, and how to turn an attractive strategy into a functioning business.
Leadership point of view
Strategy is valuable only when it survives contact with customers, people, systems, economics and day-to-day execution. Ryan's approach is direct and collaborative: understand the facts, identify the few decisions that matter most, establish accountability, and help the organization move.
